|Empowering Local Participant Laboratories through the Pre-PT Meeting|

By Paola Bianca M. Buiser Representatives from private and government laboratories attended the 1st Pre-PT meeting for 2018 on Corn-based Snack food PT Round (PT 18-01) last March 07, 2018. The opening remarks was delivered by the OIC of the Food Research Development Group (FRDG) division, Ms. Marcela C. Saises. The suggested methods and analyses of matrices and analytes for PT 18-01 were discussed by Ms. Leah Dajay, PTL head. This presentation was followed by the discussion of the Instructions to participants by Ms. Jolly C. Climaco to highlight the reporting of results, interpretation prior submission, and the time schedule of the PT round. The morning session was ended with the introductory discussion of the improved PT and RM portals by Ms. Paola Bianca M. Buiser. Participating laboratories were able to use the PT portal for registration for the next PT round. An interactive Question and answer session was engaged among the participants that allowed them to address their concerns with their transactions through the portal. Appreciation on the adapted advancement using these developed portals and services offered by PTL was expressed by the participants and very good feedbacks were gathered.
